WELCOME TO TILE EXCELLENCE!My name is Chris Lawson, and I am the owner and operator of Tile Excellence. I offer the highest quality tile installation work including ceramic tile installation, marble, granite and mosaic tile installation at the most reasonable prices in all of Boston's North Shore.
I do complete bathroom remodels (sheet rock removal and replacement, fixture removal and replacement, and finished painting) including removal of existing tubs and fabrication of custom walk-in showers. I have been installing and repairing tile for 37+ years including custom ceramic tile, mosaics tile, glass tile, glass-like marble and granite tile, natural slate, river stone, limestone and other natural stone materials. I pride myself on my hard work, commitment to excellence in quality and service, and my strong work ethics. I'll hand you an itemized list of all materials you will need to complete your job, including a section-by-section breakdown of my tile installation labor fees. On occasion, customers have wanted to do a part of the job themselves, so we cross that item off the labor costs. I am happy to help them with any questions they may have about the job. My on-the-spot estimate is always reasonable and fair, and customers know they are getting a great deal. I have a reputation for being the most dependable, affordable and honest tile installation guy North of Boston. I have pictures below of some of my recent projects using a variety of tile and natural stones, on various applications, such as back-splashes, walls, tubs and fireplaces. I will be updating them regularly! If you are looking for an example of a project you have in mind, but don't see it displayed, chances are I have done it many times over during my career. Let me know-if I have done it (and have a picture)-I'll send it to you. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have as well. You'll find I'm a very reasonable and honest guy. I provide a written one-year warranty, and I have tons of great local references from both commercial and residential clients. I am disturbed on how many calls I get about ethical practices, (maybe they read my blog rant on rip-off banks!). People want to know what is a reasonable time-line, costs and and whether or not a certain product or process is necessary. One guy called to ask me if his tile installer was being one-hundred percent truthful when asked if the new tile floor should be uneven. Told it was normal, the homeowner was a bit distressed. I'm not here to bash my brother installers or any contractor group or a particular business. I will, however, always tell the customer my opinion based on my experience. Hey, everybody's got their own pricing structure, and mine happens to be on the low end, so I tell them to keep that in mind, but the uneven tile? Normal? Sorry, but I don't think so. I've helped quite a few consumer with small home projects. I like helping people learn how to lay tile. I know how I felt when I laid my first floor with my grandfather. Nothing like it! I'm Chris Lawson, owner of Tile Excellence and "ask chris" a consumer friendly blog, Q & A and do-it-yourself (D.I.Y.) information center for all your tile installation questions & concerns. It's an honor to hear from you! I feel blessed to be a tile guy.
